My name is Shashi Kant Singhal. For nearly 25 years, alongside a career in corporate finance and management, astrology and spirituality have remained an important part of my life. Through years of systematic study, I have earned several qualifications including an M.A. (Jyotish), and I continue to be a student of this vast discipline under the guidance of my gurus. For me, astrology is not just a means of knowing the future — it is a way of understanding a person, their circumstances and life's questions with deeper insight. JyotishWorld is a humble effort born of this study, the grace of my gurus, and a continuing journey of learning.
A Student of Jyotish
My name is Shashi Kant Singhal. For nearly the last 25 years, my professional journey has been tied to the field of corporate finance and management. Alongside this practical and analytical life, my curiosity about astrology, spirituality and the Sanatan tradition of knowledge slowly turned into a serious journey of study.
Along this journey, I completed Jyotish Ratna from AIFAS, Delhi, Jyotish Vidya Visharad from the Bharatiya Vedic Jyotish Sansthan, Varanasi, and an M.A. (Jyotish) from IGNOU, New Delhi. But more important to me than these qualifications is the learning I have received through the guidance of my gurus.
In 2021, I came into contact with my astrology guru, Shri Deepanshu Giri Ji. His guidance gave a new direction to my way of seeing and understanding astrology. Along this study journey, I also had the opportunity to learn from the teachings and guidance of Shri Abhijit Krishnan Ji, Shri Sanjay Rath Ji, and other learned gurus.
One teaching from my guru has especially shaped my astrological thinking — "It is not enough to merely learn astrology; it must be lived in one's daily routine and life."
For me, this means astrology is not limited to just knowing the planets, houses, dashas and formulas. Along with continuous study, observation, reflection, experience and intuition also become an essential part of understanding a birth chart. Astrological principles provide a foundation, while the learning received from gurus, experience, and insight developed over time help in understanding those principles in the context of a person's real situation.
In my spiritual journey, devotion to my Ishta Devi, Maa Lalita Mahatripurasundari, holds a special place. I see my study and the knowledge I have gained so far not so much as a personal achievement, but as the grace of God, Maa, and the blessings of my gurus.
With the intention of sharing my study and the learning I received from my gurus, I began writing on subjects related to Sanatan Dharma, spirituality and astrology through Dharmsindhu.com. During this time, I realised that general astrological knowledge and a person's personal question are two different things. An article can explain a subject, but when that same subject touches a person's life and their situation, it becomes necessary to understand it in a personal context.
It was from this thought that JyotishWorld began.
I am still actively working in the corporate sector, so my time has certain practical limitations, and regular phone or live consultations are not possible for now. But that is not the only reason I keep consultations limited to Email.
I believe that understanding a personal question and a birth chart requires adequate time, study and reflection. Email gives me the opportunity to look at your question and chart without the rush of a live call, to reflect on it, and then prepare a thoughtful answer. It also gives you the time to read and understand that answer at your own pace and peace.
For me, astrology is not a system that pronounces the final verdict on a person's life. It is a means of understanding one's time, circumstances and questions from an additional perspective.
And perhaps that is why, even after years of study and learning, I prefer to see myself not as someone who has arrived at a final destination, but, even today, as — a student of Jyotish.

Simple & Relevant Remedies
Where an astrological remedy is needed, priority is given to remedies that are simple, practical and easy to follow. Only in special circumstances, as needed, are more detailed remedies suggested.
